Benefits of Stretching

Healthy Living / Miscellaneous / My Workouts / Personal

Time to stretch it out! Watch stress, weight, and illness stay at bay simply by stretching!

Did you know that stretching is just as important as being active?! Yes, of course we know that stretching is important for pre and post workout, but stretching itself can do so much for your health!

Stretching can lead to better circulation, it lends a hand to your nervous system, it can help with better posture, give you a clearer mind & happier attitude, and stretching of course helps you break down aches and pains!

Today I challenge you to stand up right now, wherever you are, stretch sideways, forward, & slightly backwards. Even if you’re sitting at your desk in an office full of people… actually, ESPECIALLY if you’ve been sitting at your desk. Maybe bring your foot behind you up towards your seat, holding your ankle and stretching your quads. Then try folding forward to help those hip flexers that have been …

One of the most frequent questions that I’m asked is about how to eat healthy (or even for me, gluten free) while traveling! It’s a great question as it seems daunting for many to be able to stick to eating for their personal dietary needs or even attempting to stick to their healthy eating practices while traveling, but after several trips full of trial and error (hunger pains to “gluten poisoning” tummy aches), I think I have found some must have travel snacks for domestic and international travel.

I’m highlighting some of my favorite travel snacks/foods that I’ve found work best for me, and even better, my DIY Cleanse business partner, Emily and I have created a full travel guide as one of our many bonuses when you download the cleanse! My Secret Love Affair

Favorites / Healthy Living / Miscellaneous / Personal

This secret love affair of mine turned my world upside down in the best way…

I was lost, I had no clue who I was, and I was searching for my true identity. Now… I do have a few love affairs going on, so I should probably square away which one I’m talking about today. Yes, I do have an incredibly good thing going with my super dreamy husband, but I’m re-winding back to a few years ago when I finally found my greatest passion and calling in my life.

From the day I left my little town of Newberg, Oregon all I knew of myself was that I was a dancer. I set out for college in California to chase my dreams of dancing professionally, and that was my identity. I had poured my high school years into dance, followed by my college years as I continued to chase my professional dance dreams, which they did come …

Ho-Hum Days Are Okay– Getting Vulnerable

Miscellaneous / Personal

“Daring greatly means the courage to be vulnerable. It means to show up & be seen. To ask for what you need. To talk about how you’re feeling. To have the hard conversations.” – Brene Brown

Today is just one of those days that feels like “meh” for no reason at all, and as much as I know that it’s okay to have those days, I feel a little guilty saying it out loud. I know I can’t be chipper and on top of everything every day, and that’s okay, but I wouldn’t necessarily want you to know that. I don’t want to bring anyone down, you know? But today I’m tossing my “highlight reel” (the happy feels) to the side and sharing what I’m really feeling in this moment hoping that you know it’s okay to have “bleh” days too!

The Pursuit of Being a Morning Person

Healthy Living / Miscellaneous / Personal

The struggle was real this morning. Honestly, ever since daylight savings it’s been rough, I just can’t get back into my groove. Which I actually had started to have a “groove” and that was a big deal to me!

So now it’s back to my quest of becoming a morning person…

I had made a commitment to myself for New Years to really pursue a morning routine and become a morning person. I have always thrived when I would have reason to start my days early, but it just didn’t come naturally to me. Well, as the new year had begun I began to practice working toward my new morning rituals. I was beginning to wake up by 5:30 or 6am naturally, I was getting my devotional/quiet time in, drinking my lemon water, and getting my workout(s) in and dressed and showered by the time I needed to begin my day of responding to e-mails, seeing clients, and meeting with …

{Fresh faced, right after face mask, no filter… which I always use one! Big deal ya’ll!}

So it’s getting close to my birthday!! I love celebrating and I will never deny that I’m turning one year older… but then again, I will be one year older! Haha. But age is really just a number, right? (you should all be nodding your heads yes, thank you.) Truth is, as the number of my age has been going up, I am honestly feeling younger. Healthier, more energetic, balanced, and a lot more confident in my own skin, which allows me to love life so much more!  This all has to do with lifestyle. So here’s a little lifestyle upgrade for all of you…

Naturally with age comes the question… what will change? What will go south? And sure, things may change as time goes on, but for right now I feel like I’m thriving!

One thing that I especially want to be …

Zoodle Avocado Pesto

The Perfect Marriage of Green things! I’m a big fan of Pesto and a big fan of Pasta! But there are days that I just want to go about my favorite dishes a little lighter! Because I’m gluten free, if I do pasta I tend to lean towards brown rice pasta, BUT lately I’ve been feeling a little extra bloated which means my body is trying to work something out so I’m steering towards more anti-inflammatory foods, enter in my Zoodles, Zucchini Noodles!! And kicking dairy out is another way to ditch that bloat and inflammation so I made a tasty dinner using Zoodles and my dairy free Avocado Pesto! You can pair with any protein, I went for chicken! You of course don’t have to use my Avocado Pesto to sauce up your fancy little zoodles, all sauces will do!

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord,

“Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Six years ago a very broken girl showed up in Los Angeles for a very unknown adventure ahead. Broken, but hopeful. She had no clue what was in store, and would have never imagined what would actually take place and how it would change her heart, soul, and her life all together. The thought that this adventure could possibly help her put the broken pieces back together, would have never crossed her mind, but that’s exactly what happened.

Six years ago that broken girl was me. My world as I had known it had crumbled all around me. My heart was broken into fragile little pieces, and I had no clue what could possibly be ahead. There was fear in not knowing how the healing process would go, and a fear …

“Give Thanks with a Grateful Heart”

There are so many blessings in my life to be grateful for, and I decided to write down to share a few of mine with all of you. Maybe take a minute for yourself to make your own list. Sitting down to do this was such a refreshing game changer in the midst of a crazy day. I was also surprised by a few of the things that popped into my mind as I was writing… you’ll see. 😉 It’s become a practice of mine to count my blessings, thanks to my mom, especially when certain moments in life are feeling so out of my hands, it’s a good time to remember what is in place to be thankful for. Here I go…

Two Place I call “Home”: Oregon will forever be home in my heart, and a place I get to go to be with my family and …
