Get Glowing with Coconut Oil

Beauty & Fashion / Favorites / Gluten-Free Me / Healthy Living / Miscellaneous

IMG_3857    It’s beginning to be truly evident that Coconut Oil is a must have in your household. You can use it for nearly absolutely anything!! Recently a friend of mine had commented on a Facebook post I had done sharing the benefits and uses for coconut oil (and there are a lot), so she said to me, “Next I’m going to find out that you change your oil with coconut oil and even fuel your car with it!” Haha.  I wouldn’t go that far, but we do already know that Coconut can fuel us, and in a nutshell, it can kind of be like an oil change for our bodies!

In fact, I believe that since I’ve been using my skinny coconut oil I have seen a difference from the inside out, like a glow! My face is brighter, my skin is silkier, and my teeth are even whiter! Yep, you can even use coconut oil for you teeth. …

I’ve gone crazy for coconuts. Like really. Full on love affair! I’ve been using coconut oil for a couple years now, but it wasn’t until recently that I met my true coconut oil love. My world has been rocked as I have introduced Skinny Coconut Oil into my diet. It’s a coconut oil that is in it’s most pure and raw form, making it highly beneficial to one’s health. A few weeks ago I notice that I had a new burst of energy even among my busy busy schedule. This burst of energy was slightly different then usual. I eat well and I drink plenty of water, which has been an anchor to my success for staying healthy and having the energy I need, but recently this energy had me feeling like I was 16! (Let’s be real, I’m 30) I had been jumping and dancing around like my golden days of being a young dancer. I was able to …

‘Zingy’ Turkey Burgers

Do you ever crave a good healthy burger with some good flavor that you can have at home? Umm, been there, done that, so I created this Zingy Turkey Burger that is incredibly tasty. I wanted to work with what I had in the refrigerator so with some green onions, serrano peppers, cilantro, and ground turkey, this creation was born. It’s simple, it’s healthy, and full of Zing!!

I also made a side sauté that I put on top of my turkey burger and placed the turkey burger over a bed of mixed greens and sprinkled goat cheese on top. Soooo crazy good!

Here’s how you make it happen…

Now onto that Sauté I mentioned…

Life with Lemons: Rev up your Metabolism & Kickstart your Weight Loss

When life gives you lemons, you can definitely do a lot more than just make lemonade. I say, “Bring on the Lemons, All day and everyday!” (I’ll take on those lemons metaphorically too, why not.)

Here’s the deal, lemons really are beneficial to you in like a million ways, but let’s go ahead and talk about that weight thing. One of the first things I tell my clients to do when we begin working together is to start their morning with 16oz of warm or room temperature water with the juice of ½ a lemon (or a whole if you really love lemons). This tells your body, “I’m here, I’m ready to go!” and it will kick your metabolism into gear as it awakens all your organs and starts them working; not only for you, but with you. This is the first helpful step in weight loss. (Half of this equation is water, but that’s for another time…)

So why

RESET WITH RITUAL CLEANSE

{Promo Code with discount for YOU is below!}

Many of you have seen me mention Ritual Cleanse on facebook or twitter, I love them, and I’m going to tell you why…

I’ll begin with why I even did the cleanse in the first place. It was at the beginning of the New Year, January 2012. I had always been curious about doing 3-day juice cleanse, and I knew a few people that had done Ritual and had loved it. I thought, if they could love 3 days of drinking organic “good for you” juice, I could love it too. And what better time to do a cleanse to reset your mind and body than the beginning of a New Year? And that is just what I did. I’m not going to lie, the very first cleanse I did (in January) was a challenge, and that is one more thing that I loved about it, the

Happy Holidays My Friends!

I’ve been doing some baking, which is one of my favorite things to do for friends and family, especially at this time of year! I had been playing around with chocolate chip cookie recipes, and my goal was to create a cookie that was not just gluten free, but grain free as well. My next goal was to not have any refined sugar and to make the cookies low-glycemic… I NAILED IT! I have created a “healthier” (There are still chocolate chips!), grain free, gluten free, paleo friendly, a “lower in sugar” chocolate chip cookie that everyone I served one to said that they needed more, and more, and more! I thought, if these are this good I should share them with everyone! So I decided to put my specialty high quality ingredients in a jar for all of you to be able to make in your own home …

My Pumpkin Spice Latte Experience & Green Juice to Follow

PSLGreenJuiceBlog

A few weeks ago I had my 1st Pumpkin Spice Latte ever. I had to, I’ve had this curiosity of why everyone loves it so much. The air was (warmly) crisp that morning  & it was starting to feel like fall (San Diego fall), so I took the plunge. First of all, I haven’t had Starbucks in ages, I hadn’t had cows milk in ages (months) either, but they don’t have my preferred options (Almond Milk or Coconut Milk), so this was a big day… I took a sip. <Insert my disappointed face here> To be honest, I was not that impressed. I was bummed. Everyone else loves these things sooo much! Not to bash those of you that love these PSL’s that only come around once a year, it just didn’t work for me or my tummy. So, in moments like these, I keep a “green juice” on hand …
