‘Zingy’ Turkey Burgers

Do you ever crave a good healthy burger with some good flavor that you can have at home? Umm, been there, done that, so I created this Zingy Turkey Burger that is incredibly tasty. I wanted to work with what I had in the refrigerator so with some green onions, serrano peppers, cilantro, and ground turkey, this creation was born. It’s simple, it’s healthy, and full of Zing!!

I also made a side sauté that I put on top of my turkey burger and placed the turkey burger over a bed of mixed greens and sprinkled goat cheese on top. Soooo crazy good!

Here’s how you make it happen…

Now onto that Sauté I mentioned…

RESET WITH RITUAL CLEANSE

{Promo Code with discount for YOU is below!}

Many of you have seen me mention Ritual Cleanse on facebook or twitter, I love them, and I’m going to tell you why…

I’ll begin with why I even did the cleanse in the first place. It was at the beginning of the New Year, January 2012. I had always been curious about doing 3-day juice cleanse, and I knew a few people that had done Ritual and had loved it. I thought, if they could love 3 days of drinking organic “good for you” juice, I could love it too. And what better time to do a cleanse to reset your mind and body than the beginning of a New Year? And that is just what I did. I’m not going to lie, the very first cleanse I did (in January) was a challenge, and that is one more thing that I loved about it, the

Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookie Jars

ten-pic-1

Happy Holidays My Friends!

I’ve been doing some baking, which is one of my favorite things to do for friends and family, especially at this time of year! I had been playing around with chocolate chip cookie recipes, and my goal was to create a cookie that was not just gluten free, but grain free as well. My next goal was to not have any refined sugar and to make the cookies low-glycemic… I NAILED IT! I have created a “healthier” (There are still chocolate chips!), grain free, gluten free, paleo friendly, a “lower in sugar” chocolate chip cookie that everyone I served one to said that they needed more, and more, and more! I thought, if these are this good I should share them with everyone! So I decided to put my specialty high quality ingredients in a jar for all of you to be able to make in your own home …

Everyday Tips for Living Gluten Free

While there can be many challenges living with a gluten intolerance, it’s one of my life’s challenges that I’ve learned to respect wholeheartedly by committing myself to a healthy diet and routine.  It definitely takes patience and hard work to maintain a gluten free diet, but it’s worth it.  Though I personally have not been diagnosed with Celiac disease, my gluten intolerance helps me relate to those who do (I treat myself as if I do have Celiac Disease), so I wanted to share some of my top – simple and tasty tips– for living gluten free!

1. Pack snacks when you’re on-the-go:

So many of us are always on-the-go, and while more and more convenience stores are catering to gluten-free eaters, it’s always most helpful to me to bring my own snacks.  I love to keep a SOYJOY bar in my bag, just in case where I’m going doesn’t have an …

My Pumpkin Spice Latte Experience & Green Juice to Follow

PSLGreenJuiceBlog

A few weeks ago I had my 1st Pumpkin Spice Latte ever. I had to, I’ve had this curiosity of why everyone loves it so much. The air was (warmly) crisp that morning  & it was starting to feel like fall (San Diego fall), so I took the plunge. First of all, I haven’t had Starbucks in ages, I hadn’t had cows milk in ages (months) either, but they don’t have my preferred options (Almond Milk or Coconut Milk), so this was a big day… I took a sip. <Insert my disappointed face here> To be honest, I was not that impressed. I was bummed. Everyone else loves these things sooo much! Not to bash those of you that love these PSL’s that only come around once a year, it just didn’t work for me or my tummy. So, in moments like these, I keep a “green juice” on …

How to Host a Gluten Free Party

four tips for your next gluten free gathering

Living a gluten free life is more than a trend. It’s a lifestyle that I live every day. Take it from me, there’s nothing worse than getting stuck at a party or getting ready to dine out without any gluten-free options. The last thing us gluten free eaters want is to feel like a burden to friends. Am I right, or am I right? ;) When I have gatherings I like to show my friends how it’s done so they can better understand what I can eat, and how I eat, and that “my food” really does taste just as good and sometimes even better than “glutenous” food! I always like to put a healthy spin on my snacks and treats too so everybody walks away feeling good. Everything on this menu fits in perfectly with the Tone It Up Nutrition Plan that I live by… …

Gluten Free in Charleston, SC

Charleston, South Carolina is such a charming place to visit! Kiptyn and I recently had the opportunity to visit Charleston for an awesome event, the Slimdown the South Softball game raising money and awareness for a very important cause, Louis Kids, focusing on childhood obesity. We were so happy and honored to be able to be a part of this event as focusing on living a healthy and active lifestyle is important to both of us. Our good buddy, Roberto was on our team, so of course we ended up winning the game! ;)

We were in Charleston for this very special cause, but of course we had to eat, and my goal when visiting a new city is to try to explore gluten free friendly restaurants. Charleston had several, and if we had more time I would have visited every single one, but we made it to two, I’ll consider that great.

On our …
