Thanksgiving for Two.

It’s the time of the year that we reflect on all that we’re thankful for, and my heart is so full.

This time of year deserves a little time to slow down, reflect and share. And the other night, my dreamy guy and I created a mini Thanksgiving for just the two of us. {Menu included below} It was a moment to pause and share our thanks with one another, and enjoy a festive meal… talk about pre-gaming! Haha. I’m already full heading into tomorrow.

I thought I’d share a few items from our menu from the other night and also share a few things I’m thankful for, because my heart is truly overflowing with gladness.

This Guy. My Love, My Best Pal.
Ohh man. Now I’m all teary eyed trying to find words to share my thankfulness for this sweet answer to prayer in my life. haha. I’m such a sap. For those of you who …

Truly Drinking

There’s nothing better than summer nights and spontaneous moments that make truly special memories. But of course, for the perfect spontaneous moments, you need the perfect beverage in hand! And friends, I’ll be honest with you, warm summer days and nights usually leave me reaching for a cool bevvy to kick my feet up with, but as we all know… not all drinks are created equal. Often times drinks that contain alcohol, contain gluten, and most are full of sugar and calories (I’m not a big calorie counter, but hello alcoholic beverages that are on a caloric overload… goodness!). But don’t you worry, I have a gluten free, crisp, clean, and refreshing Spiked and Sparkling drink to share with you that will up the ante on your summer beverage game!

drum roll please…

Celebrating 100 Years of La Victoria

Florals-first photo

I was extremely honored to be invited to a perfectly beautiful evening celebrating the brand, La Victoria’s 100th Anniversary! To even think of a brand having excelled for that many years while keeping the integrity and foundations that they established as a company 100 years ago is incredible. La Victoria was the pioneer of jarred salsa. In 1917, and to this day they continue to make all of their salsas and sauces with real, simple ingredients. Plus, all of their tomatoes are sourced right here in California! Being in the nutrition world, I appreciate this so much, as the ingredients are jarred at their greatest quality, just as if your Abuela/Grandma might do.

La Victoria is actually a part of my personal story, so it was an additional honor to be invited to this celebration. When I first went gluten free, I was clueless of what I could even eat, and terrified by the fact that most sauces and even …

My heart and soul come alive in nature, especially at the beach. There is nothing like the sound of the waves, the ocean spray off the sea, and that fresh beachy air. With my life by the beach and my career and passion for nutrition, nature truly inspires me. Nature inspires the foods I choose and the activities I love, and of course, nature inspires me with the things I reach for and bring into my home for self care. With that, I have been on the hunt for a new natural body wash and soap that would be easy to get my hands on and that would be full of ingredients that I agree with and feel good about putting on my body. And just as good timing has it, Tom’s of Maine reached out to share their new Natural Body Washes and Beauty Bars to enjoy. And the review is in… I’m hooked. Especially with the Creamy Coconut

Coffee

The fact that I love coffee is no secret! And some are surprised by my daily cup as I work in the holistic health  and wellness world. Coffee isn’t all that bad, but there are a few reasons why I may personally take a break from time to time, or even suggest my clients to slow down their coffee consumption.  (More on that in a future post!) Truth is, over the years, I have made some HUGE changes with how much coffee I consume and what is in my cup.

Upgrading what is in your cup can actually boost your energy even more throughout the day vs. slow you down-which most of our coffee drinks actually do. These simple upgrades can also help you lean out your mid-section, as most of the additions we’re adding into our fancy coffees are slowing down our metabolism… and all those sugary and milky substances like to make themselves at home around that waistline. …
