“Surround yourself with people who make you hungry for life, touch your heart, and nourish your soul.”

Life. It’s such a wild ride, isn’t it? If I could share every detail with you, and I’m sure if you could share every detail of your life with me, we would stand staring at each other with our hands over our mouths surprised by the challenges and heartaches we face as we go about our daily lives. But I guarantee you, if we stood with each other sharing all of our blessings, we would be smiling and so happy for one another.

My friends have become a lifeline for me, a huge blessing! They have given me a safe space to share my highs and my lows. Truly, they inspire me, teach me, encourage me, and their presence in my life nourishes my soul!

The last several months have been busy… I like being busy, so I feel like I say …

“Take care of your body, it’s the only place you have to live”

I’m going to let you in on a little secret… since I’ve been back from my summer in “Paradise” I have been so out of my routine and honestly not been feeling great about myself. My workouts aren’t the same, my eating habits are a little under par, and my skin… well, I’ve actually never seen my skin like this, it’s struggling, BAD. I blame the skin factor on everything else in my daily life that is out of whack, so I’m taking control over all aspects of my life and doing what I know to do to get myself back to feeling like my true self again. The good thing is, I do know how to do this for myself, after all, I coach people daily on living their best lives. Just goes to show, I’m human. Even though my career is nutrition and health coaching …

HallelujahMoment

Have you ever experienced a “Hallelujah Moment”? Like a moment where you just stop dead in your tracks and just need to give thanks for all that has been done in your life, and that is being done? Maybe it’s not even a moment where you’re giving thanks or praise for what is going on in your own life, but perhaps it’s even in those moments where you actually feel purpose, and you know God is doing something with this life He has given you.

I’ve experienced several “Hallelujah moments”, but one that has captured a large piece of my heart forever is the moment you see in the top picture. In fact, there were a lot of moments like this last year (October 2014) when I was fortunate enough to get to travel to the Philippines with the non-profit organization, Kusewera (I traveled to Malawi, Africa with them as well) to serve at an orphanage, a girl’s home, a …

“And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God with them.”

1 John 4:16

I’m a hopeful person. I believe in big things, and I have big dreams of my future. But I’ve got to be honest, I’m not always the best at trust or keeping my thoughts focused on the hope that I truly believe we all deserve to give ourselves. Funny thing is, I actually trust others very easily, sometimes too much. Probably a weakness and a strength of mine. BUT I struggle with trusting God. Which is crazy to me, as He is the very core of my soul and my life, and everything I believe and all of the joys in my life point straight back to all that He has done for me and in me. What is up with this struggle?

Well,

“Be the Light” Matthew 5:14

My Cross Necklace.

I received a very beautiful and uniquely shaped cross necklace as a gift several years ago from my family and it has been something I have worn proudly and close to my heart. I love the opportunity I get when it catches people’s eye and I have the opportunity to share what it means to me and share my faith. You may even remember seeing me wear this special necklace in my promo pictures wayyy back when when I was first on The Bachelor.

Tenley Bachelor

So here’s the story of my Cross Necklace in Paradise… One night we were all standing around the kitchen area (you know where you always see us sitting there sweating and stuffing our faces!) and Juelia said to me, “Ten, where is your necklace?!” The dainty little chain was laying broken around my neck. My heart dropped. Where is my cross?! Everyone… seriously EVERYONE, producers, camera & …

ElanAshleyTenley After Paradise

I had the privilege to appear on ‘After Paradise’, and though sometimes hard to get a word in, I felt like I was given an opportunity to address a few important things to me.

1) Where I am at with my past relationship and his new life change.

2) The absolute MUST for me in a relationship.

3) That age shaming… geez, I really don’t think I’m “old”.

Here’s a clip I found for you to watch!

“Delight yourself in the Lord & He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust Him & He will do this.” Psalm 37:4-5

Wisdom Tree

The other day my beautiful and adventure loving friend, Emily and I set out on a hike on a more uncommon trail to the Hollywood sign. It had been a bucket list type of goal of mine to get to the Hollywood sign, and it really isn’t that hard, and I’ve lived in southern California for years, so it was time do it! The first hour (maybe two actually) was spent hiking up & down the wrong trails. It actually became pretty comedic as we jogged and dodged several rattle snake infested trails, saying, “this has to be the right trail, this has to be the one!” And then at about a mile in on each trail we would eventually throw our hands up turning around realizing we’re only getting …

A Little Note that goes a Long Way…

Favorites / Healthy Living / Miscellaneous

When is the last time you received a little “hello” from a friend in the mail? Or how about an “I Love You” note from a loved one left on the counter as you’re leaving the house in the morning? Or maybe an encouraging thought on your desk from a co-worker? Hardly ever, right?

Megan green and purple

These things don’t happen very often anymore. With the convenience of text messages, snapchats, e-mails, and social media, those special handwritten notes aren’t showing up like they once did. I’m personally one that is guilty of the conveniences in communication these days, but recently I received a sweet note via “snail mail” (you know, the mail you put a stamp on the envelope for). It was a “just because” note from a thoughtful friend that just wanted to let me know she was thinking of me. This made my day receiving a surprise in the mail that felt like someone had gone the extra mile for …

What is Your Tummy Telling You?

Favorites / Gluten-Free Me / Healthy Living / Miscellaneous / Personal

TummyTellingYouWhat is your tummy telling you?? From the day that I was born I dealt with chronic stomach issues… we don’t really need to go into details. 😉  It took me 25 years, many doctor visits, lots of tests, and tons of pain to figure out the root of this cause. Turns out for me, that was gluten. But my health journey didn’t stop there, it was just the beginning. I had finally found my greatest enemy (gluten), removed it, but there was so much healing to be done! The gut damage I had was taking a toll on my energy, my immune system, my hormones, and I was still experiencing some stomach discomfort (it was still a huge difference compared to the pain I had experience nearly my whole life). All of this opened the door to my own journey to venturing into a career in nutrition, but it also led me to my nutritionist, Christa! With …
